About Niko's training:
The terminology for this class as known in all of this training is "Ki Development." Through the martial art "Aikido" (closely translated to 'The way to harmonize with the universe") he has grown an understanding to live a life of purpose. Since 1996 he has trained these principles under what is currently known as the Minnesota Ki Society, currently headed by Jonathan Poppele Sensei (Nidan - 2nd degree black belt), and deeper training with David Shaner Sensei (Nanadan - 7th degree black belt) His training in Aikido has complimented his 12 years of dance experience very well to understand movement and principles of leading and following dances at a deeper level.
Another note:
Some people have expressed wanting to learn self-defense techniques. Please contact me if this is an interest for you. Aikido training is very compatible with partner dance training in the similarity of movements between each. Will be titled something like partner dancing for self-defense. Or defense techniques for dancers. This may open as a class in the future, or a monthly workshop.
Thanks for your time to read this, and I hope to see you soon!
