West Coast Swing (WCS)
Been to the club recently? Some of the most popular music today, hip-hop, pop, blues, jazz, and even country is great for this smooth groovy dance. Classes for West Coast Swing (WCS) are offered Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the Social Dance Studio for both intermediate and beginning dancers. West Coast Swing is growing so popular, so quickly it would be in every dancer's best interest to get involved and learn this fun & funky street dance. There are several dance clubs in the Twin City area and around the world that dance all night to West Coast Swing. If there is a perfect dance to learn to meet people and get involved in a very inviting and fun community of people worldwide, West Coast Swing would be the dance.
It's time to get out there and social dance!

- Fold
- Whip

- Cut-Off Whip
- Passing Tuck
- Starter Step

WCS Intermediate
These classes are great for the experienced westie dancers, and those moving forward from the West Coast Swing Foundations Combinations series. In these classes, you will learn intermediate level patterns, styling (for both the follow and the lead), simple musicality (movements to help you understand how to express what the music ‘tells’ you to do), fun footwork variations. The format of each class is setup to give equal work for the lead and the follow that will be challenging and ‘cool’. You will also be exposed to styling your movement in ways so that it doesn’t affect your partner. All of the style and patterns you will learn in this series are popular dance movements that can be executed socially and competitively. You must complete all of Foundations 1, 2, and combinations or get a professional assessment from a teacher before taking this class.
