Lina got the thumbs up and the go ahead with dance at the age of 10, while alone practicing a fusion folk-belly dance piece in the small courtyard of her boarding school. Mother Superior was watching from the balcony above and was her first encouraging audience! Shortly after, Lina joined the school’s folkloric dance team and was soon performing in many events around beautiful Beirut. In the late 1990’s, she was given the opportunity to direct and choreograph a 14-member folkloric dance team in Minneapolis, performing at the Festival of Nations, Renaissance Festival, churches, schools, and numerous other private and public venues. The Latin beat, the hip movements, and the energy of the Latin dancers were enough motivation for Lina to shift gears 8 years ago and learn Latin steps from the best dance teachers in town. In addition to Latin, belly, and folkloric dance, Lina teaches Latin Aerobics/Zumba and Yoga. She is also a mother of 4 beautiful kids and works for Delta Airlines. Lina’s style and smile invite even the most novice of dancers to catch the Latin fever!
